The RB Africa Wild Coast Challenge is the ultimate bucket list event for trail enthusiasts. The 120 kms is run over three days, with participants covering a mixture of terrains, comprising virgin beach stretches, rocks and boulders, grassy hillocks, narrow goat paths, sand dunes, hiking trails, old Jeep tracks and short sections of gravel.
Participants must carry their own hydration and food for each day and, depending on the tides and water levels, be ready to swim several rivers. The route is completely unmarked, the only advice from race organiser Liam Victor being- ‘keep the sea on your left.’
2019 brings an exciting new change to the WCC, making it a more authentic and unique Wild Coast experience. The event will start at the Haven, making Day One previously unchartered territory for the herd. Day Two will follow the familiar and straightforward route from Mazeppa Bay to Seagulls hotel, and the challenging ultra-marathon from Seagulls to Crawfords Beach Lodge is now the final push on Day Three. A festive ceremony will be held on the final evening to celebrate another awesome WCC for the herd.
